Event Description: Bringing community together is the basis of the Augusta Bean and Bacon Days Celebration. This year, an Augusta Community Church Service will be part of the 50th Annual Augusta Bean & Bacon Days. It will be held on Sunday, July 5 in the Buckman Street Parking Lot behind the Wood Shed.

“We’re excited to bring back this community worship service,” says Pam Weiss, member of the Augusta United Methodist Church, which is co-sponsoring the service with St Paul’s Lutheran Church of Augusta. “It’s open to the community and we’re looking forward to having this special faith-based service as part of 50th Celebration of Bean and on Days,” Weiss says.

Bluegrass and gospel musicians Lorn & Royce Band will get everyone’s toes tapping and hands clapping as they provide music during the service. “We’d love for anyone who enjoys good music to come hear their unique music,” says Celia Bethke, member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Local musician Randy Rineck is providing music as well.

A gathering time of fellowship and snacks begins at 9:30 am. The worship service begins at 10 am. Kids can enjoy an activity table throughout the event. Those attending are asked to bring a lawn chair for seating. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on the Augusta United Methodist Church Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/AugustaWiscUMC.
